Tropical เป็นอีกรูปแบบหนึ่งที่นิยมนำมาใช้ในการตกแต่งภายใน โดยเฉพาะประเภทของบ้านพักตากอากาศหรือรีสอร์ท เป็นสไตล์การตกแต่งที่เกิดขึ้นในประเทศแถบเอเชีย ประเทศที่มีภูมิอากาศแบบร้อนขึ้น และมีฝนตกซึ่งก็เหมาะกับ Tropical style รูปแบบที่เรามักเห็นกันบ่อยๆที่นำมาใช้ในการตกแต่งคือ สไตล์บาหลี การมุงหลังคาด้วยหญ้า มีการตกแต่งสวนแบบบาหลี การใช้น้ำเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการออกแบบ เพราะจะได้ความเป็นธรรมชาติและความสดชื่น วัสดุส่วนใหญ่จะโชว์โครงสร้างหลังคาที่ทำด้วยไม้ หรือกรุด้วยวัสดุสานจากธรรมชาติเช่น ผิวไผ่ พื้นกระเบื้องซีเมนต์ หรือดินเผาธรรมชาติ เฟอร์นิเจอร์เครื่องเรือนทำจากไม้ผสมผิวไผ่และหวายซึ่งบางตัวได้รับอิทธิพลจากชาวดัตช์ ผ้าบุใยธรรมชาติโคมไฟเหล็กหล่อหรือทองเหลือง โดยรวมของบรรยากาศจะรู้สึกสบาย น่าพักผ่อน ไม่ดูเป็นทางการ แนวทางการตกแต่งแบบ Tropical style ต้องคำนึงถึงเรื่องของธรรมชาติที่เข้ามามีส่วนร่วม เพื่อเสริมสร้างบรรยากาศ เน้นเรื่องของแสงสว่างจากแสงธรรมชาติเน้นสัจจะของวัสดุ ไม้ หิน และผ้าที่ทอจากเส้นใยธรรมชาติ

Tropical is another popular decoration style especially for resort houses. The root is from Asian countries where have a tropical climate and rain often . Bali style is the place having plenty of good models of this style decoration. We will see thatched-roof houses and Balinese gardens. Water is the important part of the design. The residents then are close to nature and feel fresh. Bare wooden roofs can be found as well as ones covered by natural materials as bamboo skin, cement tiles, clay tiles. The furniture is mainly made by wood, bamboo skin, rattan and natural fabrics. Some are influenced by the Dutch. Metal or brass lamps also can be found. This style creates a friendly, relaxed and cozy atmosphere in the places.

The important point of having this style decoration is to make it in a very natural way. Try to let natural light in as much as possible and go for natural materials such as wood, stone, natural-fiber fabrics.
